The scale is scribed across the top for rod numbers and vertically 0 to 10 cm for compensation thickness. Two thumb screws lock the adjustable scale to the back support plate over a range of 85 cm to 100 cm. The unit is supported by a pin which slides into a hole in the rod box for proper orientation.
