The Aneroid Precision Barometer comes in a 5” diameter chromed/brass case with an easy to read dial. It has an adjustable previous setting indicator hand and high precision due to the rack and pinion movement.
The dual range is 930 - 1090 hPa and 700 mm to 820 mm Hg. Instrument accuracy is +/- .76 mm Hg. or +/- 0.03” Hg. This will indicate the actual pressure from 0 to 2000 feet. MERCURY FREE.
Aneroid barometers operate on the principle of a capsule which changes dimension as barometric pressure rises or falls. This capsule is sealed cell made of special alloys which minimize the effects of temperature. Such barometers are said to be “temperature compensated.” The cell expands during periods of low pressure, and contracts with high pressure. A mechanical linkage between the cell and the dial pointer amplifies very small changes in cell dimension into pointer movement.
