The 2” thick lead rings provide additional shielding around a dose calibrator chamber thereby giving maximum protection when working with 511 keV radionuclides.

There is a 2” thick lead base block which is surrounded by one ring.  The lead rings offer three interlocks, two where the ring halves connect and another from the top of the ring to bottom of the next ring. The number of rings needed is dependent on the height of the chamber being used.
