Features
This storage container was designed prioritizing the user's safety and ease of use. The large ¾” (1.9cm) thick stainless steel enclosure provides enough shielding to safely secure a radioactive GE-68 phantom as well as other devices. A radiation physicist should verify that this device provides enough shielding for its intended use.
The gas spring assisted strut allows for easy access to the container’s contents. The strut has a built-in locking feature to prevent the cover from shutting unintentionally. Pressing the button on the strut will unlock the mechanism and allow the cover to be closed using the handle and your free hand. When the device is closed, securing the two lock latches will clamp down the cover providing a more tight seal. Both latches are able to be locked with the provided key ensuring no unintended exposure to the contents.
The handle is able to be raised and lowered into two different positions by removing the pin, manually changing the height of the handle, and then reinserting the pin. When in the raised position, the storage container can easily be maneuvered with the push handle and the heavy-duty casters. After moving the storage container into place, the swivel casters on the side of the handle should be locked in place by pressing on the levers with your foot.
