Nylon Dilators are intended to be used in a variety of applications:

• Dilators may be used to gently open the vaginal canal prior to insertion of a brachytherapy applicator, vaginal cylinders or interstitial needles. This ensures clear access and reduces trauma during applicator insertion.
• Expand the vaginal canal by increasing the sizes of the dilator progressively so an applicator may be inserted
• Sizing the cavity prior to the use of a cylinder applicator
• Help achieve consistent internal geometry in imaging and treatment on internal targets
• Achieve optimal CT/MRI simulation and treatment by displacing the vaginal walls or rectum and bladder
• Checking for air gaps in CT/MRI simulation before treatment

The Nylon Dilator has one elliptical radius end and one full rounded end. The dilator is 10" (25cm) long and very durable. It is made from an impact resistant material that can stand up to wear and abrasion. These devices are reprocessable through autoclave and other sterilization methods. These dilators can be used alongside RPD Collar Clamps, Velcro Strapping and Radiation Implant Briefs to ensure proper insertion depth and consistent positioning of the device.
